Singapore GP Total Cost from India — What You'll Actually Spend

All costs in INR. Based on flights from BOM or BLR, 3 nights hotel, one race ticket, and daily expenses for the race weekend. Singapore is not a cheap destination — but it is far more accessible from India than any other F1 race, and the cost structure is predictable if you know where the real variables are.

Currency reference

All prices below assume 1 SGD ≈ ₹61.50 (approximate as of 2026). Exchange rates fluctuate — build a 5–10% buffer into your budget. Singapore uses the Singapore Dollar (SGD); major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere.

Complete cost breakdown

Three budget scenarios for a solo traveller from Mumbai or Bangalore. Figures are per person unless marked otherwise.

Each cost explained

Flights

Economy return from BOM or BLR runs ₹20,000–45,000 if booked 3–5 months in advance on Air India, IndiGo, Singapore Airlines, or Scoot. Prices rise sharply after July — by August, the same itinerary may cost ₹55,000–80,000. Business class on Singapore Airlines direct from BOM starts around ₹1.2 lakh return if booked early and rises to ₹2–2.5 lakh closer to the race.

BLR → SIN (direct)

Air India, IndiGo, SQ, Scoot

Economy: ₹18,000–32,000 return · Business: ₹95,000–1.5 lakh return

BOM → SIN (direct)

Air India, IndiGo, SQ, Scoot

Economy: ₹20,000–38,000 return · Business: ₹1.2–2.1 lakh return

DEL → SIN (direct)

Air India, IndiGo, SQ

Economy: ₹22,000–40,000 return · Business: ₹1.25–2.3 lakh return

Hotels — the biggest variable

This is where most people either save or overspend. Marina Bay and circuit-adjacent hotels triple or quadruple during race week. Staying 15–20 minutes away by MRT saves 60–70% on accommodation with minimal practical difference — Singapore's MRT is fast, cheap, and reliable.

Marina Bay / Circuit (MBS, Fullerton)

Worth it as a special occasion. Not the smart budget choice.

₹1.2–2.8 lakh/night

CBD / Raffles Place

10–15 min walk to circuit. Good compromise.

₹37,000–74,000/night

Bugis / Beach Road

15–20 min by MRT. Best value for race attendees.

₹15,000–37,000/night

Orchard Road

Shopping access. 5–6 min MRT to City Hall.

₹25,000–55,000/night

Race tickets in INR

Sold in SGD through the official F1 or Singapore GP website. Grandstands are worth the upgrade over GA at Singapore — street circuit barriers limit walkabout sightlines significantly. The Singapore Sling Grandstand is the best value entry point.

Food — cheaper than you expect

Singapore has a reputation as an expensive city, but hawker centres are the exception. A full meal at Lau Pa Sat or Maxwell Food Centre costs SGD 5–12 (₹308–738). Restaurant dining in the CBD runs SGD 30–80 per person (₹1,845–4,920). Fine dining starts at SGD 150+ per person (₹9,225+). Most Indian travellers eat well in Singapore on ₹2,500–5,000 per day without trying particularly hard.

Daily food cost guide

Hawker centres and casual mealsSGD 25–45/day (₹1,538–2,768)
Mix of hawkers and restaurantsSGD 60–100/day (₹3,690–6,150)
Restaurants and bars most mealsSGD 120–200/day (₹7,380–12,300)
Fine dining and cocktail barsSGD 250–500/day (₹15,375–30,750)

Where to save without ruining the trip

Stay in Bugis or Beach Road instead of Marina Bay

Saves ₹1–2 lakh on hotel over 3 nights. MRT to circuit takes 15–20 minutes.

Book flights by June

Economy fares from BOM/BLR can be ₹20,000–35,000 return in April–June. Wait until August and the same fare is ₹55,000–80,000.

Eat at hawker centres

Full meals for ₹308–738 each. Singapore's hawker food is excellent — this is not a downgrade, it is the correct way to eat in Singapore.

Use the MRT, not Grab

MRT journey from hotel to circuit costs SGD 1.50–2.80 (₹92–172). Grab costs SGD 15–30 (₹923–1,845) and cannot reach the circuit post-race anyway.

Use a no-fee card for SGD transactions

A Niyo Global, HDFC Regalia, or Axis Atlas card saves the 2–3.5% foreign transaction fee on every purchase. On a ₹2 lakh trip, that is ₹4,000–7,000 saved.

Where people overspend

Booking a Marina Bay hotel without checking distance alternatives

Adds ₹1–5 lakh over 3 nights vs. a Bugis or CBD hotel

Booking flights in August or September for October travel

Adds ₹20,000–40,000 per person vs. booking in April–June

Buying Grab from the circuit immediately post-race

SGD 50–100 surge fare (₹3,075–6,150) vs. walking 15 min and getting a normal fare

Using airport money exchange counters

3–5% worse rate than Mustafa Centre money changers or a no-fee credit card

Booking Paddock Club as an upgrade without researching alternatives

Paddock Club at SGD 4,000+ (₹2.46 lakh+) is genuinely excellent — but a Pit Straight grandstand at ₹35,000–78,000 delivers most of the same experience at 15–40% of the price
