Azerbaijan F1 Grand Prix Bag Policy — Baku 2026No outside food or drinks. Bag must fit under your seat. No clear bag required.

Baku's bag rule does not specify a dimension in centimetres or litres — the standard is that your bag must fit under your seat on the viewing platform. The more significant restriction is the prohibition on all outside food and beverages, which affects how you plan your day at the circuit.

The bag size rule

Bag must fit under the seat on the viewing platform

There are no published dimensions in centimetres or litres. Security checks bags at circuit gates. Bags that are clearly too large for the under-seat space — large daypacks, festival bags, hard-sided cases — are turned away. A medium-sized daypack or smaller is the practical guideline.

No clear bag requirement

Unlike Miami, Las Vegas, and some US venues, Baku does not require a transparent or clear bag. Any colour or material is permitted — the restriction is on size and the no-food/no-drink policy, not on bag opacity.

The food and drinks prohibition

All outside food and beverages are prohibited at the Baku City Circuit gates. This includes sealed water bottles, soft drinks, snacks, and meals. Alcohol in any form is not permitted. Baby food is the only exception to the food prohibition.

What this means in practice

Do not bring a packed lunch or a water bottle from your hotel. Items will be confiscated at the gate. Food and drinks are available for purchase inside the circuit and in the Fan Zone. Bring an empty refillable bottle and fill it at the water points inside — this is the standard approach for hydration.

Food and bar options operate inside the circuit and Fan Zone. Bars serving alcohol are available within the entertainment area — the prohibition is on bringing your own.

What to bring

  • Medium daypack or smallerAny bag that fits comfortably under a cinema-style seat. A standard 15–20L daypack should fit — but without published dimensions, err on the side of a smaller bag if you have the choice.
  • Large belt bag / crossbodyWorks well — smaller than a backpack and avoids the size concern entirely.
  • Empty refillable water bottleCollapsible or standard. Fill at the water points immediately after entry.
  • Baby foodThe only food exception — permitted for attendees with infants.

What gets rejected

  • Food and beverages (outside)No outside food or drinks are permitted — alcohol, sealed water bottles, soft drinks, snacks, and meals are all turned away. Baby food is the exception.
  • AlcoholStrictly not permitted. No sealed cans, bottles, or flasks of any kind.
  • Large bags and cooler boxesBags must fit under the seat on the viewing platform. Cooler boxes, large festival bags, and hard-sided cases are turned away.
  • Large umbrellasLarge umbrellas are prohibited. Small travel umbrellas may be permitted — check official guidance.
  • Camera lenses exceeding 30cmProfessional telephoto lenses over 30cm in length are not permitted. Consumer zoom lenses are generally fine.
  • Selfie sticks and tripodsNot permitted in the circuit.
  • Drones and radio-controlled devicesStrictly prohibited.
  • Flag poles over 1 metreFlags are welcome; poles must be under 1m in length.
  • Any seating devicesChairs, stools, and portable seating of any kind are not permitted.

If your bag is turned away

The Baku City Circuit is in central Baku — if your bag fails the check, your hotel is often within walking distance. This is more manageable than at dedicated circuits where returning to accommodation means a long shuttle or train journey.

No on-site bag storage or locker facilities are available at the circuit. If you are staying further from the circuit, plan your bag accordingly before travelling to the gates.
