Madring's primary restriction is on outside food and beverages — they are prohibited and will be confiscated at the gate. There is no clear bag requirement and no published bag size limit. Personal photography is permitted. Professional equipment, glass, and outside food/drink are not.
No outside food or drinks
This is the primary restriction at Madring. External food and beverages are not permitted into the circuit. Food and drink is available inside through the official Fan Zone. Budget for circuit prices — F1 venues charge a premium.
Bag size: no published dimension limit
Unlike Monza (15L) or Zandvoort (A4 box), Madring has not published a specific bag size restriction. Standard security checks are in place. A regular daypack is unlikely to be an issue. Very large bags (40L+ travel backpacks, holdalls) may be flagged — use common sense and check the official Madring site as the event approaches for any updated restrictions.
No clear bag requirement
Madring does not require a transparent or clear bag. Any colour, fabric, or style is fine — the restrictions are on contents (food, drink, prohibited items), not on bag material or transparency.
Items that are confiscated are disposed of. In serious cases (weapons, illegal substances), you may be banned from the venue. The official terms state this explicitly.
Outside beverages are prohibited. The exception: you may bring a plastic bottle without a cap. This is Madring's specific wording from their official FAQ — it's an unusual policy compared to most F1 circuits.
What this means practically
Bring a standard 500ml–1L plastic bottle with the cap removed before the security gate. Free water refill points are available throughout the circuit and fan zones. Fill the bottle inside. In 28°C direct sun over 8 hours, you will drink significantly more than the contents of one bottle — plan to refill several times. Soft drink cans and bottles from outside are not permitted (the cap rule doesn't apply to sealed commercial beverages).
Personal, non-commercial photography is permitted. Standard smartphone cameras and consumer-grade camera bodies with standard lenses are fine. The restriction is on professional equipment.
Once your ticket is validated, re-entry is not permitted. This affects bag policy planning: if a prohibited item is found at the gate, you either leave it outside (in your car or with someone not attending) or you do not enter with it. There are no on-site bag storage facilities mentioned for items that fail the security check. Pack correctly before you arrive.
