Amsterdam baseAmsterdam hotels are the realistic base — Zandvoort village is tiny and fills a year out. Book anywhere on the NS direct line (Amsterdam Centraal, Haarlem, Zuid) by April for sane rates.
Train planNS runs direct trains to Zandvoort aan Zee every 10–15 min on race days. Buy an OV-chipkaart or single ticket in advance — walk-up queues at Amsterdam Centraal on race morning are long.
Dune weatherNorth Sea coastal weather does what it wants — 22°C sun, 14°C wind, or rain inside an hour. Pack a windproof shell and sunscreen. Don't rely on forecasts a day out.
Bag policyZandvoort caps bags at roughly A4 size. No chairs, no umbrellas, no glass. Orange wigs are fine and encouraged — the full kit is part of the experience.
