Visa checkMost nationalities need an e-visa. Apply via evisa.gov.az at least 3 weeks before travel. Cost is around USD 26 and approval typically takes 3 working days — don't leave it to the last week.
Hotel bookingOld City and Fountain Square hotels walk to the circuit. Race-week rates jump 2–3× — book by July for the best mix of price and location.
Walking planThe circuit cuts through the city centre, so road closures start days before the race. Plan to walk between your hotel and the gates — metro access at 28 May station is the only alternative when traffic stops moving.
Saturday raceThe race runs on Saturday (not Sunday). Double-check your flights and session plan — it catches people out every year.
