Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix Bag PolicyClear bags only — and no storage if you get it wrong.

Las Vegas has the strictest bag policy on the calendar. Clear bags only for anything larger than a small clutch. No exceptions, no storage options if you get it wrong.

The clear bag rule

For backpacks and totes, only transparent clear bags are permitted. Maximum dimensions are 12" × 6" × 12" (approximately 30 × 15 × 30 cm). A standard black backpack — even a small one — will not pass security.

Non-transparent small bags are allowed for clutches and fanny packs only, up to 6" × 9". You may carry one clear bag and one small non-transparent clutch.

Summary

  • ✓ Clear bag (tote or backpack) — max 12" × 6" × 12"
  • ✓ Small non-clear clutch or fanny pack — max 6" × 9"
  • ✓ Diaper bag (with infant, subject to search)
  • ✗ Any non-clear bag over 6" × 9"
  • ✗ Standard backpack of any colour

What gets turned away at the gate

Flag poles are the most commonly confiscated item — even if the flag itself is permitted. Leave the pole at your hotel and attach your flag to the railing instead.

  • Any non-clear bag larger than 6" × 9"
  • Professional cameras with detachable lenses
  • Glass containers of any kind
  • Drones
  • Umbrellas
  • Flag poles
  • Outside food and drink

Food and drink inside

No outside food or drink is permitted. Many 3-day grandstand tickets include food and non-alcoholic drinks as part of the package — check what your specific ticket tier includes before deciding what to carry in.

If your bag fails at the gate

There is no bag storage at the venue. If security rejects your bag, the only option is to walk it back to your hotel — which could mean 20–30 minutes each way depending on where you're staying relative to your gate. Check your bag before you leave your room.
