Camping / hotelOn-site camping and Silverstone-adjacent hotels (Towcester, Brackley, Milton Keynes) sell out by March. If you're booking later, look at Northampton or Buckingham and budget for the drive in.
Park & RideBook Park & Ride in advance — walk-up capacity is limited and the nearest one often sells out first. If you're driving, your transport plan is the single biggest decision of the weekend.
Weather layersJuly at Silverstone swings from 25°C sunshine to cold rain in the same afternoon. Pack sunscreen and a waterproof you can stuff in your bag — not one or the other.
Bag policyBags must fit 30×20×20cm (roughly A3 paper). Bigger bags get turned away at the gate and there is no bag drop. Check your daypack against the rule before you leave.
