Start times are provisional. The FIA’s calendar release gave weekend dates only, so every clock time here is carried over from that circuit’s 2026 running. The dates are confirmed; the times are an estimate and will be updated when the 2027 session schedule is published. Baku’s race day is not confirmed either — it ran on a Saturday in 2026.

Circuit guides cover getting there, bag rules and grandstand sightlines — properties of the track, so they hold for 2027 too. They are written for the 2026 running; session times on each guide get updated closer to the 2027 race. Portimao and Istanbul Park return in 2027 and have no guide on this site yet.

What’s changed vs 2026

Dutch Grand Prix (Zandvoort) is gone. The 2026 race was its last under the current contract, so there is no Dutch round in 2027.

Barcelona-Catalunya drops out for a year. The Spanish Grand Prix runs only at Madrid, on 10-12 September.

Portugal returns at Portimao on 18-20 June, its first F1 race since 2021.

Turkiye returns at Istanbul Park on 1-3 October, also its first since 2021 — subject to FIA circuit homologation.

10 sprint weekends, up from 6 in 2026. Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Canada, Monaco, Great Britain, Italy, Brazil, Qatar and Abu Dhabi all run the sprint format — Monaco for the first time.

Bahrain opens the season on 12-14 March instead of Australia, and the season runs a week later than 2026 at both ends: Abu Dhabi closes on 10-12 December.

The season now ends with two December rounds: Qatar on 3-5 December and Abu Dhabi on 10-12 December, back-to-back and both sprints.

F1 2027 Calendar FAQ

When does the 2027 F1 season start?

The 2027 season opens with the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sakhir on 12-14 March 2027, with the race on Sunday 14 March. Bahrain takes the opening slot from Australia, which opened the 2026 season. Saudi Arabia follows a week later on 19-21 March.

When is the last race of the 2027 F1 season?

The finale is the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Island on 10-12 December 2027, with the race on Sunday 12 December. It is a sprint weekend, and it follows Qatar at Lusail on 3-5 December — back-to-back, so a single trip covers both.

How many sprint races are on the 2027 F1 calendar?

There are 10 sprint weekends in 2027: Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Canada, Monaco, Great Britain, Italy, Brazil, Qatar, Abu Dhabi. That is up from 6 in 2026. A sprint weekend replaces Friday's second practice with sprint qualifying and adds a shorter race on Saturday, so track action starts earlier in the weekend.

How many races are in the 2027 F1 season?

24 — one more than the 23 rounds that ran in 2026 (24 were scheduled; 1 was cancelled). The FIA confirmed the full 24-round calendar in September 2026, running from Bahrain in March to Abu Dhabi in December.

Which new races are on the 2027 F1 calendar?

Two circuits return rather than debut. Portugal is back at Portimao (Algarve International Circuit) on 18-20 June, its first F1 race since 2021. Turkiye returns at Istanbul Park on 1-3 October, its first since 2021 — that round is still subject to FIA circuit homologation. Both circuits last ran without a normal ticketed crowd, so shuttle, parking and bag arrangements will be new rather than inherited.

What changed on the 2027 F1 calendar compared to 2026?

The Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort drops off after its final contracted race in 2026. The Spanish Grand Prix runs only at Madrid — Barcelona-Catalunya takes a one-year break. Portugal and Turkiye return. Bahrain opens the season instead of Australia, and the sprint count rises from 6 to 10.

Is the Dutch Grand Prix on the 2027 F1 calendar?

No. Zandvoort's 2026 race was its last under the current contract, so there is no Dutch Grand Prix in 2027. The nearest alternatives for Dutch fans are Spa-Francorchamps on 23-25 July and Silverstone on 2-4 July.
