Milton Keynes is the best overall base. It's 18 miles from the circuit, has the largest selection of hotels at reasonable prices, and the official shuttle runs directly from there. Northampton is closer at 12 miles and a good alternative if Milton Keynes books out.
Yes. Silverstone sells camping tickets separately from race tickets. On-circuit camping is a big part of the British GP experience — you walk to the grandstands and avoid all shuttle logistics. Camping tickets sell out 6 or more months in advance. Book through the official Silverstone website.
Yes, it's the best hotel base. Milton Keynes has good hotel stock across all price ranges, the official race shuttle runs from there, and journey time to the circuit is around 25 minutes. It also has restaurants and bars for evenings after racing.
Expect to pay 2–3× normal rates. Milton Keynes hotels that cost £60–80/night normally will list at £120–220 during race weekend (July 3–5, 2026). Northampton is slightly cheaper. London hotels are not affected by the race but have a higher baseline. Book as early as possible for best rates.
Camping tickets sell out first — book as soon as they go on sale, typically 6+ months ahead. For hotels, Milton Keynes and Northampton start thinning out from March onwards. Race week is July 3–5, 2026. Anything left in June will be at peak markup.
