Madring's primary restriction is on outside food and beverages — they are prohibited and will be confiscated at the gate. Backpacks can be up to 40 × 30 cm, and there is no clear bag requirement. Personal photography is permitted. Professional equipment, glass, cans, umbrellas and outside food/drink are not.
No outside food or drinks
This is the primary restriction at Madring. External food and beverages are not permitted into the circuit. Food and drink is available inside through the official Fan Zone. Budget for circuit prices — F1 venues charge a premium.
Bag size: backpacks up to 40 × 30 cm
Madring's access conditions cap backpacks at 40 × 30 cm and refuse suitcases and trolleys. A regular daypack usually fits; a 40L travel backpack or a holdall does not. Measure yours before you leave.
No clear bag requirement
Madring does not require a transparent or clear bag. Any colour, fabric, or style is fine — the restrictions are on contents (food, drink, prohibited items), not on bag material or transparency.
Items that are confiscated are disposed of. In serious cases (weapons, illegal substances), you may be banned from the venue. The official terms state this explicitly.
Outside beverages are prohibited. The exception: one plastic bottle of up to 500 ml. Glass, metal bottles and cans are refused. The 2026 FAQ also asked for the cap to be removed, so take it off before security.
What this means practically
Bring a 500 ml plastic bottle and take the cap off before the security gate. Free water refill points are available throughout the circuit and fan zones. Fill the bottle inside. In 28°C direct sun over 8 hours, you will drink significantly more than the contents of one bottle — plan to refill several times. Soft drink cans and bottles from outside are not permitted (the cap rule doesn't apply to sealed commercial beverages).
Personal, non-commercial photography is permitted. Standard smartphone cameras and consumer-grade camera bodies with standard lenses are fine. The restriction is on professional equipment.
Once your ticket is validated, re-entry is not permitted. This affects bag policy planning: if a prohibited item is found at the gate, you either leave it outside (in your car or with someone not attending) or you do not enter with it. There are no on-site bag storage facilities mentioned for items that fail the security check. Pack correctly before you arrive.
