📍 Pit Straight / Start-Finish
The primary grandstand at the start/finish straight of F1's newest circuit. Pit entry and exit are in your sightline, so every stop plays out visually from your seat. The September afternoon race means direct sun for much of the first two hours: the covered roof helps, but the open section still gets warm. This is where the podium ceremony happens, so if you want to stay for the full spectacle, this stand delivers it.
"The first ever Spanish street race, the first ever start from this line. Worth every euro."
Upper rows, centre section: see the start/finish line and pit entry in the same eyeline
📍 Turn 1 Braking Zone
This is where the race is won and lost in the first lap. Cars arrive at full race speed from the long straight and compress into the same braking point: expect contact, drama, and cars running wide in the first few corners. Beyond lap 1, the DRS activation into T1 makes this a consistent overtaking point throughout the race. At a brand-new circuit, you are watching history: the first ever T1 at Madrid happens in front of this stand.
"You feel the cars decelerating from 300km/h to about 70 in front of you. Nothing else on the circuit replicates that."
Upper rows: see both the approach from the straight and the exit through T2
📍 Mid-Circuit Hairpin
The hairpin is the visual opposite of the main straight: cars arrive slowly, thread through the apex in front of you, and accelerate away. At a street circuit this is particularly close: the barriers are metres away rather than the gravel beds of a permanent circuit. For a first-time attendee who is not sure about the premium investment, this stand gives genuine proximity to the cars at a fraction of the main grandstand cost. Being uncovered and mid-circuit, the September heat is at its worst here: sun protection is non-negotiable.
"You can see the driver's helmet and they're moving at basically jogging pace. I was 6 metres from an F1 car."
Front few rows: hairpin action is best from close range, not elevated distance
