November nights in the Nevada desert are cold — race night runs 5–10°C from the 8pm start through to the finish, and feels colder with wind chill in open grandstands. Many first-timers underdress and spend the race miserable. A thermal base layer, warm mid-layer, and a wind-blocking outer jacket are the minimum.
Layer for the temperature swing: afternoons reach 18–22°C but race night runs 5–10°C. A removable outer layer you can tie around your waist during practice gives you flexibility. Comfortable trainers are essential — the circuit covers a large perimeter and you will walk significant distances.
No formal dress code for grandstand tickets. Practical, comfortable clothing is the right choice — you will walk significant distances and spend several hours in cold outdoor conditions late into the night.
