It depends what you are optimising for, and Albert Park gives you fourteen to choose between. For the start and the pit stops, Fangio faces the pit lane across the Main Straight. For lap-1 chaos, Jones sits on the outfield of Turn 1 and Brabham on the infield of the same corner. For overtaking, Hill is on the apex of Turn 3 and Webber and Vettel sit either side of Turn 11 at the end of the longest straight. For the finish, Prost looks down on the Turn 14 apex across from the pit entry.
The AGPC sells undercover seats in six stands only: Fangio, Piastri, Prost, Ricciardo, Schumacher and Senna. Two things to know before you book on that basis. Undercover seats are the premium double-letter rows (AA, BB, CC) rather than the whole stand, and the AGPC states plainly that undercover seating does not give full weather protection. Melbourne weather turns fast, so a compact poncho is worth packing wherever you sit.
Three are sold on it. Hill sits on the apex of Turn 3, which the AGPC calls one of the circuit’s most reliable braking and overtaking zones. Webber is inside Turn 11 at the end of Albert Park’s longest straight, a hotspot for late braking. Vettel is on the outside of the same corner — the AGPC’s words are "high-risk, high-reward". Lauda at Turn 12 also overlooks a prime overtaking spot as cars run to the penultimate corner.
Fangio. It overlooks the Main Straight directly across from Pit Lane, so you see a car peel in before the screen cuts to it and watch the stop itself. Prost is the other pit-adjacent option: it sits across from the entry to Pit Lane at Turn 14, so you see who is committing to a stop rather than the stop.
Yes, and it changes what a seat is worth. A sprint weekend puts two competitive sessions on Saturday — the sprint and then qualifying — instead of one practice session and qualifying. A Saturday ticket covers considerably more racing than it does at a standard weekend, and the overtaking stands earn their money twice.
The AGPC had not published 2027 grandstand pricing when this page was last updated, so no price is shown against any stand here rather than a guess. Prices vary by stand and by seat type within a stand — undercover and aisle seats are priced separately — and four-day, two-day and single-day tickets are all sold. Check the official ticket search for current figures.
Jones is a short walk from Gate 1, and Button and Clark both sit off Gate 5. That matters more than it sounds at a sprint weekend: Saturday carries two competitive sessions and draws bigger crowds than a standard Saturday, so the walk in and out is longer than you would plan for.
Worth it for the open stands — Brabham, Jones, Hill, Button, Clark, Webber, Vettel and Lauda — where you will be seated for hours across a long day. The six stands with undercover premium rows are the more comfortable seats in the house.
