Getting to the Marina Bay Street Circuit

The circuit sits inside a road-closure zone for the whole race week: LTA road closures around Marina Centre and the Padang area run from 12:01am Wed 7 Oct to 5:30am Tue 13 Oct. Taxis and private-hire cars (Grab, Gojek, TADA) can only pick up and drop off at designated points around the circuit while roads are closed. That makes the MRT the default way in for almost everyone, with 20–30 minutes of walking from the station exit to your gate once the crowds build.

Your ticket's zone decides which station to use, because gates and walkways inside the circuit are split by zone. Pick the station for your zone, not the one closest on a map.

Nearest MRT stations by zone

  • Zone 1 (Pit Straight, Turns 1–3): Nicoll Highway (CC5) or Promenade (CC4/DT15). Promenade Exit C for the Pit Straight entrance.
  • Zone 3 (Bay): Bayfront (CE1/DT16), Exit B.
  • Zone 4 (Padang, Esplanade): City Hall (NS25/EW13), Exit B, or Esplanade (CC3).

After the race, City Hall and Promenade queue for 45–60 minutes. From Zone 4, walking about 15 minutes to Clarke Quay (NE5) or Bencoolen (DT21) gets you clear of the crowd. MRT and bus services run later on race nights — check SMRT and SBS Transit for the exact last-train times each night.
