For most visitors staying in central Baku — near Fountain Square, the Old City, or the seafront Boulevard — the circuit gates are 10–20 minutes on foot. The metro also serves the circuit via Icherisheher, 28 May, and Sahil stations. There is no visitor parking as roads close during race sessions.
Three metro stations serve the circuit. Icherisheher is closest to the Old City castle section grandstands. 28 May is approximately 700m from the main straight grandstands and is useful for the Absheron and Turn 1 areas. Sahil sits between the two and is useful for sections near the Fan Zone.
The easiest option is to stay for the podium ceremony — by the time it ends (15–25 minutes after the flag), the worst of the immediate crowd has dispersed. Better still, find a restaurant on the boulevard and wait 45–60 minutes. App taxis surge immediately after the race but return to normal pricing within the hour.
Bolt, Uber, and Yango all operate in Baku. On Saturday when road closures are in effect, they cannot reach the circuit perimeter and drop you at the edge of the closed zone. Immediately after the race they surge in price — walking 10–15 minutes from the circuit before booking gives better availability and pricing.
